A pilot project with waterless urinals was conducted in 2008-9, but was deemed a failure. Pipes corroded and the urinals did not work, according to facilities operations staff. Pin-flush urinals have been installed in limited locations, however, and are much more successful.
Though no bottled water ban is in place, bottle-fill stations have been installed in 2 buildings, with hopes to expand.
Finally, all athletic fields and the golf course are irrigated from non-potable wells, and another well supplies the water to wash all university vehicles. However, these wells have not been metered.
