A brief description of the institution’s bicycle program, including the year the award was achieved and/or renewed:
UNCG was the first campus in North Carolina to be recognized by the League of American Cyclists as a Bike Friendly University.
Bronze level Bike Friendly University initial certification in 2011.
Bronze level Bike Friendly University renewal in 2015.
In 2017, UNCG partnered with LimeBike to launch the first free-flow dock-free bike share system in the country. Based on the success of the campus pilot test, the City of Greensboro joined the partnership to expand the program city-wide.
