NC DOCKS is a cooperative effort to make the scholarly output of the University of North Carolina System more available to the world. Current institutional participants include Appalachian State University, East Carolina University, North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics, UNC Charlotte, UNC Greensboro, UNC Pembroke, UNC Wilmington, and Western Carolina University. NC DOCKS includes many full text articles, audio recordings, dissertations, and other formats. All materials are indexed by Google and are freely available to scholars and researchers world-wide.

In addition to offering grants to support open access publishing through the Open Access Publishing Fund, the UNCG University Libraries have partnered with several academic publishers to offer publishing discounts and article processing charge credits to campus authors.
These “transformative” publishing deals allow us to test new publication funding models while supporting the creation and sharing of open access scholarship. Because these deals are new and evolving, there may be frequent changes to the content on this page. During the spring of 2010, the University Libraries acquired Open Journal Systems (OJS), a journal management and publishing system. Through the use of OJS, the Libraries can now support faculty who wish to publish online journals, newsletters, technical report series, and other publications.
