A brief description of how the literacy assessment was developed and/or when it was adopted:
It was developed in 2014 when collecting commuting habits and sustainability knowledge data to calculate the campus's baseline GHG inventory. It is administered annually in September. In addition to the previously created assessment, we have rolled out another assessment that focuses on further sustainable education. This was developed in March of 2023 and will be used again in the upcoming semesters.

The survey is emailed to the entire campus population of students, staff and faculty. We average at least a 10-percent response rate of the campus population.

In our first survey in 2014, only 51% of respondents were familiar with the campus's sustainability initiatives. In 2016, the percentage for the same question increased to 84%.
