University of North Georgia has the following diversity and equity staffing:


Student Affairs: the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs is present on both the Gainesville and Dahlonega campuses. They provide programming on all the campuses.


The Faculty Senate and the Staff Council collaborate on the Diversity Council. This is an advisory group to the President/Cabinet. The Director for Diversity and Inclusion is an ex-officio member.


Director for Diversity and Inclusion (chief diversity officer) was hired in February 2019.

There are different training efforts around the campus:

Residential Life: Orientation trainings during the fall and in-service trainings throughout the school year prepare the residential student staff to work.

Multicultural Student Affairs: The office coordinates trainings through its student organization, Diplomats of Diversity program. The office works in conjunction with other student organizations to host

The Center for Teaching, Learning, and Leadership (CTLL), coordinates the Teaching Conversation Series. This series introduces different topics, of which diversity and inclusion are sometimes provided.

The Office of Diversity and Inclusion provides diversity and inclusion trainings on the five campuses. It is currently developing a training with the CTLL and the Office of the General Counsel around the Difficulty Dialogues model.

Human Resources provides supervisor trainings that encompass diversity and inclusion as a topic.

College of Education Diversity Certificate is a series of master’s level seminars, include Special Topics in Diversity, Special Topics in Education and Diverse Issues in Professional Settings. Themes covered have included cultural identity and preconceptions, internal and external oppression, discrimination, and many others.

Current practices, status, and participation during the three years prior to the anticipated data submission.

This data is currently being collected from various offices as part of a Diversity Inventory.
