A brief description of the institution’s community garden:
Hometown Harvest, located in Dahlonega, Ga, is a university and community collaboration that inspires K-12 students and the university community to grow, prepare, and enjoy fruits and vegetables, especially heirloom varieties.
A significant amount of the food harvested is donated to the nearby Lumpkin High School.

UNG has also recently added a community vegetable garden to the Oconee campus which supplements the on-campus food pantry and acts as an educational gardening tool (see notes for link with more info).
