A brief description of the institution’s methodology for evaluating employee satisfaction and engagement:
An anonymous employee survey called NDVoice is conducted once every two years. The surveys asks 76 questions regarding accountability, development & training, effectiveness, empowerment, engagement, image, immediate manager, leadership, pay & benefits, respect & fairness, strategic clarity, teamwork and wellness. Respondents also may enter up to three free form comments. All staff members have the opportunity to respond to the survey – response rate in 2016 was 80%.
A brief description of the mechanism(s) by which the institution addresses issues raised by the evaluation (including examples from the previous three years):
The University reviews the results with all employees at Town Hall meetings. Each division reviews their results with the staff. Improvement initiatives are identified at the University and division levels and are tracked on a quarterly basis.
