Part 1. Greenhouse gas emissions inventory
Yes
A copy of the most recent GHG emissions inventory:
A brief description of the methodology and/or tool used to complete the GHG emissions inventory:
The University has its own permitted power plant and reports pursuant to that permit. The attached file is the greenhouse gas reporting to the EPA. It covers Scope 1 emissions on campus for the fiscal year 2020.
The Scope 2 emissions are calculated based upon our purchased power and a conversion given by the local power company for MWh to tons CO2.
The Scope 2 emissions are calculated based upon our purchased power and a conversion given by the local power company for MWh to tons CO2.
Has the GHG emissions inventory been validated internally by personnel who are independent of the GHG accounting and reporting process and/or verified by an independent, external third party?:
Yes
A brief description of the GHG inventory verification process:
The Office of Sustainability independently calculates and verifies the values from the Utilities Office and local utility provider Indiana Michigan Power.
For scope 2 emissions a conversion factor is provided by our local utility, 788 lbs of CO2 / mWH. For FY 2020, our scope 2 emissions were 22,426.1466 metric tons of CO2.
