A brief description of the diversity office:
The University of Oregon Office of the Vice President for Institutional Equity and Diversity (OIED) works to ensure equitable access to opportunities, benefits, and resources for all faculty, administrators, students, and community members.
OIED includes the Office of Multicultural Academic Success (OMAS), the Many Nations Longhouse, and the Center on Diversity and Community (CoDaC). OIED serves the diversity goals and education mission of the University by:
1) supporting students individually and in programs
2) facilitating collaboration on diversity initiatives throughout the campus community
3) providing professional development opportunities
4) funding and supporting diversity activities for faculty, administrators, current students and potential students.
OIED is a hub of information and a center for resources and expertise to support equity and diversity at the UO. Their goal is to promote institutional fairness and equality, eradicate discrimination, and celebrate the strengths of a multicultural community.
