The University has not developed a formal definition of sustainability in the curriculum. Sustainability related courses are identified by staffs of the Office of Campus Sustainability who conduct an annual audit of the course descriptions and select those that fit the following criteria.
Any course that focuses on basic knowledge with regards to more than one of the three pillars of sustainability (social, economic, environmental) and examines the context in which these topics intersect.

All the courses offered that are related to sustainability are listed on the University’s sustainability website. The list is updated annually and offers the possibility for professors to submit their courses for review.
