A brief description of the metering system:
The University of Ottawa has invested over 1 million dollars in the energy meters spread over the main campus. The PRS staff do monthly meter inspections. They provide the service with live reading with 5 minute delay. Furthermore, each building has a standard monitor which will then post results on a website. In case of out of range results, the computer will notify the personnel (smart energy monitoring).
