The University of Ottawa is building new buildings and is doing major renovations on buildings waiting for their LEED Silver certification. These are also elements of the green revolution plan: 1) Encourage efficient energy management programs to limit wasteful processes and decrease system outputs; 2) Promote green building technology and the use of green building rating systems (such as LEED); 3) Encourage the adaptive re-use of existing facilities and materials when embarking on new campus projects; 4) Continue to implement and expand environmental initiatives to conserve 5) Pursue sustainable and innovative methods in the design and construction of facilities; and use resources efficiently 6) Promote a balanced and sustainable approach to travel methods both within the campus and between the campus and the surrounding community; 7) Pursue a sustainable approach to public realm and open space design;
