Part 3. Minimum total compensation for employees

A brief description of the minimum total compensation provided to the institution’s lowest paid employee or pay grade:
Extended health insurance unless employee opts out of basic health insurance if covered by another health plan (includes prescription drugs (reimbursed at 100% or 80% depending on group), the program reimburses 50% of mental health paramedical services up to a maximum of $3000) and 100% of the cost of other eligible medical expenses, such as private-duty nursing and vision care, emergency dental in case of accident, other paramedical services, medical supplies and services, emergency travel assistance);
Basic dental insurance (pays for 80% of the cost of eligible routine dental procedures, with no annual maximum based on the Ontario Dental Association Fee Guide for General Practitioners);
Bronze long-term disability insurance (equal to 60% of your pre-disability salary, to a maximum of $8,500 a month as of the 120th day of disability, providing they meet all the terms of the contract);
Sick leave;
Health Care Spending Account;
Employee and Family Assistance Program (professional counselling, information and support services (e.g., family, legal, financial, health) for employee, spouse and dependent children);
Pension Plan (mandatory for all permanent support staff over 30 years old; the university and the staff member pay into a pension plan).
