The Office for Sustainability encourages all campus staff and faculty to participate in the Green Office Program. Through this certification program, offices complete a checklist of environmentally responsible actions to earn improve sustainability practices within their office. The Office for Sustainability also participates in the annual Employee Wellness Fair to offer sustainability resources to employees.
Furthermore, there are a number of sustainability-related committees that faculty and staff are invited to join in order to learn more about different areas of sustainability at the university, learn from their colleagues, and institute changes on campus. There is a Faculty Learning Community focused on environmental stewardship in a changing world that is supporting the University's desire to incorporate environmental stewardship more directly throughout the institution.
There is also a Sustainability and Environmental Awareness Committee (SEAC) made up of faculty, staff, and students that exists to address issues that pertain to sustainability at the University of Richmond. SEAC has three subcommittees focused on academics, campus stewardship, and culture change that work to tackle specific projects or suggest solutions.
Beyond that, there is a committee that staff can participate in focused on waste reduction at the University, as well as another committee dedicated to energy use on campus.

Every year, staff and Office for Sustainability student interns have the chance to attend the AASHE conference. The Office for Sustainability pays for staff and student attendance.
