A brief description of the policies and/or guidelines to improve outdoor air quality and minimize air pollutant emissions from mobile sources:
Idling buses and diesel trucks are requested via signage to stop engines. This includes athletic buses at the athletic facility and campus bus stops.
The Climate Action Plan has a no idling policy that is enforced for campus vehicles.
The University of Richmond prohibits smoking, including e-cigarettes, inside classrooms and administrative buildings, residential facilities, dining areas, athletic facilities and university owned vehicles. Smoking is prohibited within 25 feet of the outside of any building to prevent smoke and e-cigarette vapors from entering through entrances, windows, ventilation systems, or other means.
