We've created a custom Occupational Health and Safety System based on OSHA, ANSI, and other best practice standards to manage our health and safety risks and work toward preventing work-related injuries and illnesses, while providing safe and healthy workplaces. The program aims to identify potential risks, reduce incident of injury and illness, and promote a culture of well-being and safety. Employees are engaged in health and safety programs and professional development and safety training is standard across many positions. The offices of Environmental Health and Safety and Risk Management conduct audits, track safety- and risk-related outcomes, and report on incidences for both internal and external reporting. University of Richmond focuses on a proactive, inclusive approach to managing workplace risk, safety, and health.

We track and calculate the number of recordable incidents of work-related injury or ill health using the OSHA guidance and OSHA-provided spreadsheeet templates, as well as first reports of injury.
