Mission
The University has established an Ethical Investment Advisory Committee consisting of faculty, undergraduate and graduate students and staff members, whose purpose is to identify areas of potential concern and investigate the consonance of the University’s investment policies and values. Where appropriate, it will make recommendations to the Investment Committee of the Board of Trustees regarding particular investments, communications and proxy votes.

Examples of CIR actions during the previous three years:
May 2019: Recommended that the University join the Climate Action 100+, a coalition of over 370 investors with more than $35 trillion in assets under management that are engaging companies on improving governance, curbing emissions, and strengthening climate-related financial disclosures. The recommendation was approved and the University joined the Climate Action 100+ in January 2020, becoming the 6th university to do so.
