USD conducted a commuter survey in April 2016 with a representative sample (300 employee response).

USD has 28 Blink EV charging stations located across campus for staff and students using electric vehicles, in order to promote the use of electric vehicles if the use of personal transportation is essential to get to campus. USD also has 74 Carpool spaces available during weekdays specifically for commuters who carpool. 86 free "Fresh Air" passes are issued for staff who normally use a more sustainable mode of transportation to arrive on campus, so that they can they can park for free on campus for up to 16 days per semester when they drive.
