All employees are eligible to participate in the Green Office Certification Program. If employees elect to participate, a representative from the Office of Sustainability will visit their office and assess their office's sustainability policies and practices. The representative also provides information on how to increase and improve their sustainability behaviors in various categories. The Office also provides presentations to any interested office, including complying to requests for presentations or training in regard to a specific topic.
A brief description of any external professional development and training opportunities in sustainability that are supported by the institution :
Funding is provided for the employees of the Office of Sustainability to attend sustainability-related conferences, including the annual Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education Conference; the annual California Higher Education Sustainability Conference; the annual (regional) Zero Waste Symposium, and various energy efficiency courses/workshops through the local utility.
