USD is also a member of Cleantech San Diego. Cleantech San Diego is a member-based trade organization that positions the greater San Diego region, including Imperial County, as a global leader in the cleantech economy. As a nonprofit organization, Cleantech San Diego is uniquely suited to support the industry by fostering collaborations across the private-public-academic landscape, leading advocacy efforts to promote cleantech priorities, and encouraging investment in the San Diego region.
Finally, USD is an annual participant in the California Higher Education Sustainability Conference. CHESC brings together California Community Colleges, the California State University, the University of California, and private and independent colleges in California to share best practices in campus sustainability efforts.

Trey McDonald (Director of Sustainability) served as a member of the AASHE Advisory Council through Dec. 2020, and was a member of the speaker selection committee for the 2019 Cal. Higher Education Sustainability Conference. He is also a member of the Environmental Sustainability Commission for the City of La Mesa, CA.
Mr. Scott Anders (EPIC) sits on several Boards that relate to sustainability and energy.
