Does the institution have an ongoing program or programs that offer incentives for faculty in multiple disciplines or departments to develop new sustainability courses and/or incorporate sustainability into existing courses?:
Yes
A brief description of the program(s), including positive outcomes during the previous three years (e.g. descriptions of new courses or course content resulting from the program):
Faculty who participate in theannual Sustainability Course Development Institute professional development workshop are eligible to apply for funding to support revising curriculum to integrate sustainability. The fund is still relatively new so new content has not yet been developed. To date, we have only delivered the Sustainability Course Development Institute twice; as it continues to be offered, we anticipate acceleration of this curriculum revision work.
A brief description of the incentives that faculty members who participate in the program(s) receive:
Faculty who have taken a Sustainability Course Development Institute who wish to integrate sustainability into existing curriculum can apply for grant up to $1,000. In addition, this funding can be applied for in connection with funding from the university's Curriculum Innovation Fund and the Experiential Learning Fund.
