A brief description of how sustainability is included prominently in new student orientation :
1- At the beginning of each academic year, the University of Sharjah organizes an orientation day for all new students to welcome them to the UOS community and give them the opportunity to meet leaders from the university community who provide welcoming remarks.
The Sustainability Office began participating in the orientation day from the AY of 2018-2019 by introducing the sustainability concept.

In the 2019-2020 orientation day, eco-friendly shopping bags were distributed with the aim of raising the level of sustainability awareness. Two brochures on the recycling and the Sustainability Office were also distributed. Additionally, in 2020/2021, distributing refillable water bottles was planned, but due to the breakout of COVID19, it has been stopped.
