A brief description of the institution’s wellness and/or employee assistance program(s):
University of Sharjah has wellness and employee assistance services that makes counseling, referral, and wellbeing services available to students and employees through the Psychological Support and Counseling Office. This office aims at offering support and help to accomplish psychological and social stability. It has full-time dedicated counselors. UoS has also a dedicated Workplace Health, Safety and Wellness Circle within the Sustainability Office. The aim of this circle is to spread awareness and information on workplace wellness. UoS Counselling Office website is given as a proof in Appendix PA13 1 while the Disability Resources Centre website is given in Appendix PA13 2. Website of the Circle is given in Appendix PA13 3.
University of Sharjah also prohibits smoking across the whole campus. This no-smoking policy is given in UoS website as shown in Appendix PA13 4 and is communicated to all students through No Smoking Policy in the Student Handbook 2019-2020 page 56 given in Appendix PA13 5.
