Does the institution have an ongoing program that offers incentives for academic staff in multiple disciplines or departments to develop new sustainability courses and/or incorporate sustainability into existing courses? :
Yes
A brief description of the incentive program(s):
The Sustainability Across the Curriculum Program offers a financial incentive for faculty from USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences to incorporate sustainability content into their already existing courses. The program was developed with a focus on large General Education or introductory courses.
The program partners these USC Dornsife faculty with other faculty that are experts in various areas of sustainability, and together they develop content (modules, assignments, lab exercises, etc.) for these classes. The program was launched in 2020, and the university has planned to continue the program into future academic years. The second year of the program (2021) will see the program expand from only USC Dornsife faculty to faculty across all USC schools.
