The Viterbi Virtual Sustain-A-Thon 2020 was an interdisciplinary student competition designed to utilize the engineering skills of students for the purpose of creating solutions to address existing sustainability problems. This competition was open for both Undergraduate and Graduate students. Participants created teams of three to six students and competed in a 48-hour design sprint in which they engineered solutions to the biggest problems of our time. Each team was composed of students from at least 2 different majors; an interdisciplinary approach was key.

Office of Sustainability staff and other campus stakeholders served as judges of the competition, and students were awarded cash and other prizes for their work.
