A brief description of the institution’s wellness and/or employee assistance program(s):
The Center for Work and Family Life (CWFL) has provided services for USC faculty and staff for 40 years, and continues to support employees and their dependents during COVID-19 through remote Zoom and telephone sessions. CWFL offers free and confidential work/life resources for benefits-eligible employees:
- Individual and relationship counseling for personal or workplace related issues, conducted by masters-level, licensed clinicians
- Support groups and work/life balance talks tailored for department, unit, or workgroup
-Workplace consultations for leaders and supervisors to support and manage staff
- Executive coaching by International Coaching Federation-certified clinicians for Director-level and above employees
- A 24/7 call center with licensed clinicians available
- Hundreds of USC work-life benefits including childcare and eldercare services, legal, financial, health plans, occupational therapy, ombuds.

USC Student Health Counseling and Mental Health provides access to a variety of psycho-social educational personal skills development workshops. With locations on both USC campuses, Student Health offers servics including medical care, counseling and mental health, sexual assault survivor support, and a student insurance plan.

The institution’s smoke-free policy:
The university is committed to promoting a healthy, safe and comfortable environment for all students, faculty, staff and visitors. Smoking is prohibited in all indoor and outdoor facilities on university owned and leased property with no exception, including within vehicles parked on those properties. This includes all university owned and leased housing, dining, hotel, retail, athletic and performance facilities and all teaching, research, clinical and office space. In addition to university owned and operated student housing facilities, this policy also applies to any property occupied by any fraternity or sorority officially recognized by the university.

For purposes of this policy, smoking is defined as inhaling, exhaling, burning, carrying or possessing any lighted cigarette, cigar, pipe, electronic cigarette, hookah or other lit product and including the use of any substance, including but not limited to tobacco, cloves or marijuana.

Refusal by faculty, staff or students to comply with this policy may result in appropriate disciplinary action. Visitors who refuse to comply will be asked to leave and could be subject to arrest for trespassing should they persist.

Exceptions:
Smoking may be permitted:
- In connection with research if approved by the USC Institutional Review Board or other appropriate research committee through the Office for the Protection of Research Subjects
- For ceremonial use on USC property with prior approval of the sponsoring department and the Office of Cultural Relations and University Events
- For university-sponsored theatrical and performance purposes where simulation of smoking may be permitted under approved guidelines
