For this credit, USC has reported information from 2019-2023 (a 5 year time span). USC has several buildings that are currently in design and under construction which will likely be completed by our next STARS report.
---
For example, in May, 2021, USC began construction on the Dr. Allen and Charlotte Ginsburg Human-Centered Computation Hall. Opening in Spring 2024, the 116,000-square-foot facility will be USC’s first LEED-Platinum certified building.

----

USC now mandates that all major retro-fits and new construction buildings achieve LEED Platinum. Approximately 6 are in different stages of design or construction.
----
In 2022 USC launched the Sustainability Design and Construction Guidelines which effectively embed sustainability throughout university capital construction projects. https://fpm.usc.edu/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/USC-SDCG_FInal-PDF_20220722-1.pdf. The guidelines set a minimal, best, and aspirational set of measures across several categories including water, occupant comfort, landscape, site, energy, materials, and waste.
