A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:
UT Knoxville's Team Living Light is one of only 20 collegiate teams selected from around the world to participate in the U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon 2011 (SD 2011). The competition challenges the student-driven teams to design, build, and operate solar-powered houses that are affordable, energy efficient, and attractive. Upon completion of the competition, Team Living Light will transport and display its house at sites across Tennessee, educating the public about the possibilities of energy efficient design within our region.
