A brief description of programs, policies, infrastructure investments, outreach efforts, and/or other factors that contributed to the diversion rate for construction and demolition waste:
The University of Tennessee, Knoxville does not track all demolition waste throughout the year, as that would mean collecting data from every contractor on campus. However, the waste data from one current construction project on campus was available. This project is following LEED standards, and, as the Sustainable Building Policy requires that all new building and construction projects on campus be built to LEED standards these data may serve as a representative approximation of all projects on campus.
