Has the institution conducted a survey or other evaluation that allows for anonymous feedback to measure employee satisfaction and engagement during the previous three years?:
Yes
Percentage of employees assessed, directly or by representative sample:
100
A brief description of the institution’s methodology for evaluating employee satisfaction and engagement:
Yes, UTRGV conducted an institution wide Campus Climate Survey and a follow up survey in Spring 2021. Both surveys were conducted by ModernThink LLC, an independent research and consulting firm, that allowed us to collect anonymous and confidential feedback.
An institution wide climate survey, that is confidential and anonymous, is being facilitated every 3 years. UTRGV’s Strategic Plan includes a focus on promoting a welcoming and inclusive campus climate, along with values around engagement, shared governance, leadership, inclusion, and well-being. We conducted an institution-wide Climate Survey, and worked on creating action plans and making progress towards the identified goals to strengthen our campus climate. In February 2021, we did a follow-up survey to assess our collective progress toward our goals.
Some departments may additionally assess satisfaction and engagement separately on a department level. The Office of Human Resources assists with requests for individual engagement surveys.

A brief description of the mechanism(s) by which the institution addresses issues raised by the evaluation:
Once results are provided by our survey partner ModernThink, preview presentations take place for Executive leadership and the climate survey steering committee. Results are then being shared via townhalls, were all students and employees are invited to attend. This year, townhalls will be virtual and recorded and will be shared on the website.
UTRGV The Office of Human Resources created “Campus Climate Liaisons”, a group of HR professionals and volunteers from Staff Senate, assisting each department with their respective result presentations as well as action planning and progress reporting. Campus action plans as well as progress reports were posted on our website. The results from our 2021 follow-up survey show impressive progress, with improvements in all areas. ModernThink called some of our results “unheard of” as we were able to improve in certain areas by double digits. We will follow the same mechanism for action planning and progress reporting as in 2018.
Redacted open ended question comments are being analyzed and categorized. If a certain comment raises a specific issue that needs immediate attention, the concern is being forwarded to the respective area.
