A list of new construction and major renovation projects that indicates the green building code, policy/guideline, or rating system that applies to each building:
In the last three years, UFV has completed five renovation projects with a specific sustainability strategy for each one. Each of the projects were built aligned with LEED but were not certified. Below is a brief overview of each project:
- A Building – East Wing - New External Envelope (Total building area 5046 m2): Continuous external mineral wool insulation, air barrier and new windows to increase overall R values. New exterior cladding to extend building life and protect building structure.
- D Building – New External Envelope (Total building area 5,740 m2):
Continuous external mineral wool insulation, air barrier and new windows to increase overall R values. New exterior cladding to extend building life and protect building structure.
- G Building – Roof – Photo Voltaic Panel Installation (Total building area 5,687 m2). Built to BC Building Code requirements.
- E Building – Solar Wall Panels Installation (Total building area 3,797 m2): Capture solar heated air to supplement HVAC system.
- C Building – External Floor Area Converted to Interior Space: 83 m2 exterior covered area was converted to interior space without cost or expense of foundations or roof structure. The cladding system used was similar to both the A-East and D building envelope projects.
