UFV is an open access institution that provides funding for Adult upgrading as well as student emergency grants and bursaries.

UFV does not have any needs-based assessment for students entering UFV, they only award funds to students entering UFV based on academics or leadership, not based on financial need.

Bursaries are a supplemental source of funding for students with demonstrated financial need. First consideration is given to students who have exhausted all other types of funding (i.e. government or financial institution funding programs). Students who have not accessed funding may receive bursaries based on the availability of bursary funds.

In Financial Aid & Awards, UFV will assist students with government loans (BC, out of province and Canada loans), full & part time grants, adult upgrading assistance, bursaries, unforeseen emergencies, food vouchers, emergency loans tuition waivers for former youth in care, etc..
