141 employees are covered by union collective bargaining agreements. All other staff salaries are covered in accordance with the Salary Structure Table established for the year. The minimum salary for the lowest pay grade is $12.11 per hour compared to the CA state’s mandated minimum wage of $9.00 per hour.
The Healthy Workplaces, Healthy Families Act of 2014 provides, among other things, that an employee who, on or after July 1, 2015, works in California for 30 or more days within a year from the commencement of employment is entitled to paid sick days for prescribed purposes, to be accrued at a rate of no less than one hour for every 30 hours worked providing 24 hours of sick leave available to the employee.

The MIT Living Wage Calculator for Stockton, CA was used to estimate the a standard living wage in this local. For reporting purposes, the living wage for one adult ($10.91) was used to assess compensation. HR found that all full time, year-round employees and 98.8% of part-time employees earn above the living wage of $10.91/hour.

A brief description of the compensation (wages and benefits) provided to the institution’s lowest paid regular, full-time employees:
Lowest paid regular full-time employees is 20.1% above California state minimum wage. All employees that work at least 20 hours per week for positions that are 9 months or longer are considered benefit eligible and are able to take part in the University benefit plans. The University currently provides affordable coverage and minimum essential coverage as stipulated in the Affordable Care Act.
