The Sustainability Committee is an administrative standing committee with faculty membership and charged to advise the President on the development of strategies and policies that contribute to the practice and understanding of sustainability across the University.
To continuously improve campus performance on matters of sustainability the Sustainability Committee will:

1. advise on establishing and integrating sustainability strategies across the institution
2. recommend policy, institutional goals and resource allocation
3. monitor related indicators and progress through assessment and benchmarking activities
4. encourage the alignment and expansion of education practices, teaching and learning, scholarship, and co-curricular activities.

The Committee Oversees distribution of Sustainability Project Investment Funds.

The Sustainability Department is composed of three full time employees(Sustainability Director, Sustainability Coordinator, Garden Coordinator); one part time Sacramento Community Garden Assistant; and student interns. Generally four interns work in the Ted & Chris Robb Garden and five work with general sustainability programing and outreach.

A brief description of the activities and substantive accomplishments of the institution-wide coordinating body or officer during the previous three years:
The Sustainability Committee meets on a monthly basis to discuss current issues and projects.

The committee is also responsible for the Sustainability Project Investment Fund in which $150,000 is awarded to different sustainability projects for all three campuses. Over the last three years SPIF has supported projects such as: improved bicycle parking at the SF campus, replacing gas grounds equipment with electric, LED installations, water bottle refill station installations, pilot of an online surplus platform, tables with solar charging and more.

The University of the Pacific has a Sustainability Director and Sustainability Coordinator that are resources for all three campuses. Over the past three years, the Sustaining Pacific office has continued to coordinate a Green Move In/Move Out program, a Pacific Green Team, a Pacific Kitchen Co-op. Sustainability has also overseen and taken on management of the Pacific Food Pantry and Pacific Garden Program. Resources such as the Green Event Guide, Sort Smart Guide and Sustainability Walking Tour have been developed and distributed to the community. Outreach has included sustainability challenges on social media, presentations to classes and garden tours. Operationally staff collaborated with Physical Plant to achieve 100% non-potable irrigation water, replacement of campus toilets and faucets with low-flow fixtures and future installation of solar and electric vehicle charging.
