Students | Yes |
Academic staff | Yes |
Non-academic staff | Yes |
A brief description of the institution’s formal participatory or shared governance bodies:
Faculty Governance & Academic Council: Faculty participate in the governance process and recommend policies for consideration through the University committee structure and Academic Council. The University of the Pacific Academic Council recommends policy concerning curricular, faculty and other academic issues. Faculty representatives are elected by the faculty in each school or college for three-year terms. All three campuses are represented on the Council. The number of faculty representatives from each unit is determined by the number of tenured or tenure-track faculty in the unit. Staff Advisory Council: The S.A.C. serves as an advisory body representing staff in university matters to university administration. S.A.C. is a resource for staff to address concerns and issues, represent staff on various university committees, promote and encourage staff development, and support activities to build community and increase employee morale. ASuop: The Associated Students of the University of the Pacific (ASuop) is the governing student body that is responsible for advocating and working on behalf of student concerns. To benefit students, ASuop Government maintains close working relationships with the Division of Student Life and partnerships around the Stockton community. The Student Bar Association is the governing body for graduate students in Law programs as well as graduates in School of Health Science graduate programs.

Part 4. Community engagement bodies
A brief description of the campus-community council or equivalent body that gives external stakeholders a regular voice in institutional decisions that affect them:
Pacific values the communities in which it is a part. Typical community members are regularly consulted about events that may impact them. For example, prior to annual outdoor concerts, flyers are provided to neighboring residents soliciting feedback and it provides a hotline for comments and concerns. At the beginning of the year, Pacific has months of stakeholder meetings with residents and business leaders to plan for the Miracle Mile takeover, an event aimed at increasing business along the Miracle Mile by introducing students to the area. Another initiative to familiarize students with the community is the annual Day of Service. Pacific works with organizations and faith based community leadership throughout Stockton to identify volunteer opportunities. Stockton citizens, along with Pacific students perform service activities together during the day of service and from that one event, relationships are forged for continued service opportunities thru out the year, typically on Friday’s.
