A brief description of the institution’s wellness and/or employee assistance program(s):
All Pacific medical plans have wellness elements which are augmented with on campus programming and co-curricular activities, events and education coordinated by the campus wellness coalition.
Employee Assistance Program:
Free, confidential short-term assessment and referral service that can help with a variety of personal issues including work-related concerns, conflict resolution, marital or relationship concerns, grief and loss matters. Employees recieve up to three free sessions every six months.
Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS):
The mission of Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) is to promote student growth and development, with regard to both personal characteristics and interpersonal competencies. This is done in the service of enabling students to benefit from and maximize their educational experience at University of the Pacific. CAPS consistently strives to integrate multiculturalism into the everyday functioning and structure of the agency. Through the broad range of therapeutic services offered (including individual, group, couples, consultation, and outreach), persons may come to appreciate the uniqueness of their personalities and discover new ways to develop their potential.
Student Health Services:
Student Health Services provides comprehensive healthcare to all Pacific students at all three campuses Including:
-No and low cost healthcare regardless of insurance status that includes free medical visits, an in-house pharmacy and in-house laboratory.
-Telehealth Nutrition Counseling / Coaching with a clinical dietitian.
-Physicals/Wellness exams and treatment plans with medical providers.
-HealthCare Navigation with our insurance coordinator to assist students with referrals and insurance coverage.
-Health promotion outreach events.
Care Managers:
Care Managers are dedicated to assisting Pacific students in meeting their academic goals and overcoming educational and personal challenges. As part of the Office of the Dean of Students', Care Managers are responsible for assisting students with academic, social, emotional, personal, and professional development. Care Managers support students by playing a primary role in case assessment, student referrals, and the case management of various student issues, including personal and medical emergencies. Our goal is to empower students to find solutions to the day-to-day obstacles they may encounter at Pacific, while providing support with academic, family, health, and other challenges.
