Ontario College and University Sustainability Professionals (OCUSP) - UTM has been a member of OCUSP since its inception in 2008. A UTM staff member regularly attends the OCUSP Annual General Meeting, and also served on the Board of Directors in the past.

At the conference "Sustainability: Transdisciplinary Theory, Practice, and Action" which was held at UTM in October 2019, UTM's Director of Utilities and Sustainability gave a presentation entitled "UTM's New Science Building: Innovations in Laboratory Building Design".
Tours of the UTM campus' green features were also offered to conference attendees. One tour focused on the campus' LEED buildings, green roofs, transportation programs, and other green features. A second tour allowed attendees to tour the geothermal system that heats and cools the Instructional Building.

U of T has applied to Canada's Greenest Employers for the past several years, and has made the list for the past 7 consecutive years. The list highlights the top 100 Greenest Employers in Canada. Each employer is evaluated by the editors of Canada's Top 100 Employers in terms of: (1) the unique environmental initiatives and programs they have developed; (2) the extent to which they have been successful in reducing the organization's own environmental footprint; (3) the degree to which their employees are involved in these programs and whether they contribute any unique skills; and (4) the extent to which these initiatives have become linked to the employer's public identity, attracting new employees and clients to the organization.

The Sustainability: Transdisciplinary Theory, Practice, and Action (STTPA) Conference ran three full days from Wednesday, October 16 to Friday, October 18, 2019 at the University of Toronto Mississauga campus in Maanjiwe Nendamowinan and the Instructional Centre Buildings.
In total, we welcomed approximately 350 guests from all around the world. The STTPA Conference was comprised of 7 Plenary Keynote Sessions, 10 Sub-Plenary Panel Sessions, 8 Workshops, 2 Solution Sessions, and 36 Concurrent Sessions.
In addition to the sessions hosted, the STTPA Conference held 3 Sustainability Tours of the University of Toronto Mississauga, a Poster Presentation viewing by the MScSM Class of 2020 students and conference delegates, and exhibitor tables.
The Organizing Committee comprised faculty, staff, and students from various departments and disciplines across UTM.

UTM has periodically presented at Lunch and Learns to members of Ontario College and University Sustainability Professionals (OCUSP) to share our sustainability accomplishments and lessons learned. In summer 2019, UTM jointly presented (with Sheridan College) on how to plan and run a Repair Café event; in spring 2020, UTM presented on how we achieved our Fair Trade Silver campus designation.
