The LGBTQA Center serves as UVM's point of coordination for activities, community, resources, advocacy, information, and history. Our staff members help people and groups at UVM understand how to meet the needs of people with diverse sexual and gender identities.
The LGBTQA Center@UVM helps build respectful, friendly, inclusive community and learning environments for LGBTQ people at UVM. A campus climate that is inclusive benefits all members of a university community.
We works toward this goal in many different ways. These include:
Maintaining physical and electronic resources for the community, including the LGBTQA Student Lounge, the David Bohnett Cybercenter, and social media resources.
Educating and reaching out to individuals and organizations throughout UVM with trainings on LGBTQA issues.
Advocating for change through our many partnerships with organizations across campus and our efforts to increase LGBTQ inclusion and improve UVM's response to anti-LGBTQ bias.
Building community by holding major events, supporting groups and collaborations, and helping the LGBTQA community keep in touch.
