UVic has an Office of Campus Planning and Sustainabilty (under the Vice-President, Finance and Operations) consisting of one director and two full-time sustainability coordinators, and is supplemented with co-op and work study students, and volunteers. The office acts as coordinator and resource for students, staff, faculty and administration working towards shared goals of environmental sustainability at the University of Victoria. This includes conducting the annual greenhouse gas inventory, other sustainability reporting, sustainability communications, special events, classroom speaking, and community relations. Sustainability is also incorporated into the job descriptions of staff in many other operational units on campus including the Waste Reduction Unit, Capital Development, Parking and Transporation Services, Purchasing and Food Services. The School of Business also has a full-time Coordinator for its Centre of Social and Sustainable Innovation.
