A brief description of the campus-community council or equivalent body that gives external stakeholders a regular voice in institutional decisions that affect them:
UVA Community Working Group: https://communityworkinggroup.virginia.edu/committee-members
Charge from President Ryan: ""I will ask this group, over the next few months, to assess UVA’s relationship with the community and determine the highest-priority issues for consideration, which might include wages, housing, education, health care, and other matters. I will ask you to deliver a brief report to me identifying the top five to eight issues by February 2019. I want to make clear that I am asking you to identify the issues but not to solve them in such a short time frame. I will also ask you to think about the best long-term structure for developing solutions to these issues, possibly through the establishment of a more permanent council or board."
UVA Equity Center Local Steering Committee: https://virginiaequitycenter.org/local-steering-committee-members
The Equity Center will tangibly redress racial and economic inequity in university communities by advancing a transformative approach to the fundamental research mission, which will, in turn, reform institutional values, pedagogy, and operations. The Equity Center envisions universities that serve local communities by bringing rich research resources to bear on the work of redressing poverty and racial inequality, and also equip students to lead in building a just society.
UVA Community Relations Neighborhood Groups: Because changes on Grounds can impact our neighbors too, Community Relations communicates University news and developments to area residents. The office actively works with residents, University officials and students to address issues of mutual interest and concern that often arise when student renters live among longer-term residents.
The office meets regularly with neighborhood associations bordering the University and hosts Neighborhoods Advisory Group and other meetings throughout the year to promote ongoing dialogue with neighborhood residents.

Master Planning Council:
The Master Planning Council advisees the President and Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, through the Architect for the University, on mid-term and long term physical planning for the University of Virginia. It reviews and comments on the Grounds Plan and overall planning as to the best utilization of the existing buildings, landscape, and infrastructure, as well as participate as general stakeholders in the development of precinct/area plans. The Council is comprised of stakeholders across the University and City and County representatives.
