A brief description of the institution’s sustainability-related spend analysis:
University of Virginia Procurement & Supplier Diversity Services (PSDS) completes quarterly spend reporting to evaluate the spend in dollars and in percentage of total the goods and services from small, woman-owned, minority-owned, and service disabled veteran owned businesses (SWaM). This reporting reviews discretionary spending – those funds for which the University has choice in directing funds. Discretionary spending is regularly over 50% of total expenditures.
PSDS also completes local spend analyses regularly as part of the University’s President’s Council on UVA-Community Partnerships/Local Economy Working Group (https://prescouncil.president.virginia.edu/local-economy).
