A brief description of the program:
The University of Washington’s U-PASS program offers Vanpool subsidies to students, faculty and staff. There are 694 Vanpoolers at the University of Washington. Vanpools get free parking on campus. There are Vanpools from six different transit agency partners, including Intercity Transit, Everett Transit, Kitsap Transit, Pierce Transit, Community Transit and King County Metro Transit. King County Metro has the largest and oldest public Vanpool program in the nation. Vanpools get a van, insurance, maintenance and gas covered by our transit agency partners. The University of Washington’s Zimride network is the fourth largest in the nation with more than 7,250 users. Students, faculty and staff members can use their existing UWNetID to login to the secure University of Washington Zimride network. UW Transportation Services has a full-time rideshare coordinator who promotes rideshare options and campus and supports and encourages the University’s rideshare community through events and outreach.
