A brief description of the socially responsible investment option for retirement plans:
The University of Washington currently offers one socially responsible fund in the UW Retirement Plan and a range of socially responsible fund choices through the Voluntary Investment Program.
On November 1, 2012, the UW Retirement Plan and the Voluntary Investment Program will transition to a new fund line-up, which provides two socially responsible fund options in the “core” tier of fund. In addition, employees will have access to a new brokerage window providing an expanded array of specialty socially responsible funds.
