Certificate in Sustainable Transportation: Planning & Livable Communities https://www.pce.uw.edu/certificates/sustainable-transportation-planning-communities In this three-course certificate program, you’ll gain an in-depth understanding of the critical issues surrounding the planning and development of sustainable transportation systems. We’ll review policies and programs that promote alternatives to the single occupancy vehicle, including mixed use development and increased population density. You’ll study the environmental impact of different transportation options and investigate the legal and governmental factors involved in sustainable transportation policy. This importance is reflected in the steady job growth in the field of wetland science and management in the private, nonprofit and government sectors. In this five-course certificate program, we explore the physical, chemical and biological characteristics of wetlands and their many functions. You’ll become familiar with different classification and sampling methods. We’ll investigate the complex land-use laws that apply to wetlands and affect their management and protection. We’ll also examine the processes and considerations involved in restoration work.
