A brief description of the institution’s efforts to support alternative fuel and power technology in its motorized fleet:
All new vehicle purchases at the University of Washington are either electric or biofuel, to the extent practicable. We currently have 202 flex fuel vehicles running exclusively on E85. This means 60% of our fleet is either all-electric, plug-in electric, hybrid, alternative fuel, or biodiesel. In 2019 and 2020, we supplied renewable diesel at our fuel pumps. We are currently running B20 due to supply issues, but would like to move back to R80 whenever possible. We recently expanded our EV infrastructure and have 102 charging stations on campus.
