Data source(s) and notes about the submission:
Academic departments included all those listed as course owners within the academic calendar, including Dean’s Offices, Co-operative Education and Career Action, and Graduate Studies. Academic departments hosted primarily through the Affiliated and Federated Institutions of Waterloo were excluded based on the boundary for this report. This is different than how Waterloo typically identifies and lists academic departments, but is most appropriately aligned with the credits for STARS.

Note the data above represents the significant shift to online learning for all terms in 2020 regarding distance education due to COVID-19. It also includes decreased employee headcounts. This is provided for purposes of transparency and to offer the most updated data. However, in operational credits such as OP-5,2,18.and 21 both 2019 performance data and FTEs are used as these are more representative of expected future conditions (for example as employees and students resume in-person activity). This discrepancy is noted in each of the above credits, for clarity.
