A brief description of the sustainability-focused immersive experience(s) offered by the institution:
The course-based Masters in Environment and Sustainability is a 12-months inter-disciplinary program offered at the University of Western Ontario.
This program uses project-based learning to enhance the graduate student's skill-set, in preparation for a career in the environmental field. This relatively new program has a requirement of completing a four month summer co-op.
Previous and current co-op placements include working at: Goodlife Fitness, Try Recycling Inc., City of London, the University of Western Ontario, non-profit organizations and private consulting firms.
Additionally, during the academic year, students actively engage in a consulting project where they are given the opportunity to work with a real client (private, public or NGO).
