The Student Development Centre is home to a variety of services specially designed to meet the needs of undergraduate and graduate students on campus. Staff members are highly trained and experienced professionals who know what campus life is all about and a dedicated group of student volunteers work with them to provide different programs.
The programs offered include the following:
- Writing Support Centre
- Indigenous Services
- Learning Skills Services
- Psychological Services
- Services for Students with Disabilities
- Volunteer opportunities
- Resource library (e.g., books, videos, binders and online resources to help student adjust to university life)
- International and Exchange Student Centre (IESC)
Within the IESC, international students can join the International Peer Connection program. This program connects new international students with current Western students (both Canadian and International Students) called 'Peer Guides'. The Program offers information, friendly support, involvement in Western activities and a link to Western services. The program helps students feel comfortable in their new environment and in making the most out of their experience at Western.
