A brief description of the employee wellness program, policy, or practice:
Western Wellness provides 'opportunities for Western Staff and Faculty to enhance their health and well being' and this include the 'Western Wellness Series'. A series of presentations by Western staff and faculty are presented to employees in focusing on what truly matters in life to enhance their quality and depth of experience (e.g., parenting, organizational change, nutrition, etc.).
As well, Health Services provides comprehensive services to staff for occupational and non-occupational illness/injuries, and general health concerns.
They include:
- Occupational health surveillance
- Nursing care
- Health education
- Blood pressure screening
- Allergy injections
- Laboratory services
- Physiotherapy
- Massage therapy
Also, the Teaching Support Centre offers guidance and tips for Teaching Assistants' health and wellness.
