A brief description of the program, including examples of peer-to-peer outreach activities:
Western's Green Office program helps offices identify areas of improvement, track progress, and celebrate achievements related to sustainability. By following checklists spanning eight categories developed specifically for Western’s campus, this program establishes an office green team and facilitates changes for a more sustainable workplace. Every office space throughout campus is eligible for this program. Building occupants select one or more office representatives/champions to register their office.

A brief description of how the employee educators are selected:
Volunteers are selected to be the office representative.

A brief description of the formal training that the employee educators receive to prepare them to conduct peer outreach:
If requested, Western's Sustainability Coordinator makes a formal presentation about the Green Office Program to the participating office, including information on the structure, scoring and sustainability categories associated with this program. The Sustainability Coordinator also has an independent meeting with the office representative/s to ensure proper execution of the program. Additionally, the Sustainability Coordinator passes along a green tip monthly to the office representative/s, who then distributes this green tip along to the rest of the office.

A brief description of the financial and/or administrative support the institution provides to the program (e.g. annual budget and/or paid faculty/staff coordination):
Western's Sustainability Coordinator offers support to Green Office representatives around campus. The Green Office Program is currently funded by each office independently.
